2014 Vauxhall Meriva on sale now
Changes to the Meriva mini-MPV for 2014 include some minor design updates, handling upgrades, new gadgets and more efficient engines.
The current-generation version of the Meriva was first launched back in 2010 and rivals for the mini-MPV include the Ford B-MAX, the Fiat 500L and the Citroen C3 Picasso. The raft of updates for the 2014 model maintains the Meriva’s position as one of the most modern and versatile compact family cars in the market.
Design updates for the 2014 Meriva include a new darker grille and newly-designed headlamps now complete with LED daytime running lights. A new pearlescent body colour choice has also been added called Emerald Green.
Inside the Meriva is now available with the IntelliLink infotainment system which can integrate smartphone apps. The device, previously seen on the Vauxhall ADAM, is available as a £1,200 option when choosing the range-topping SE-trim Meriva, which is priced between £18,400 and £22,355.
The FlexDoor seating arrangement with innovative rear-hinged doors for easy cabin entry and exit is retained in the Meriva. The car’s seating arrangement remains ideal for parents securing young children in the back. The boot meanwhile still boasts 400 litres of capacity, which can be increased to 1,500 litres with the rear chairs collapsed.
Interestingly all new Vauxahll Meriva cars are fitted with a safety feature that prevents children opening the rear doors while the car is moving.
There are six trim levels for the Meriva starting with ‘Expression’ and followed by ‘S’, ‘Exclusiv’, ‘Energy’, ‘Tech Line’ and ‘SE’.
Standard equipment for the 2014 Vauxhall Meriva includes a CD/radio player with MP3 compatibility and auxiliary-input socket and electric front windows.

This new diesel returns a remarkable combined fuel economy of 64.2mpg and CO2 emissions of just 116g/km.
All engines for the Meriva benefit from upgraded transmissions which offer better efficiency and much more precise and smooth gear changes.
Other diesels for the Meriva include a 109bhp 1.7-litre CDTi. The petrol engines include a 99bhp 1.4-litre unit and a turbocharged 1.4-litre unit with either 118bhp or 138bhp.
