Dacia Duster grabs a towcar award
The decision to give the Duster this particular award was made by a judging panel that included members from various motoring-related magazines including Practical Caravan, What Car?, The Camping and Caravanning Club.
Each car contending for an accolade at this year's Towcar Awards underwent a series of through tests at the MIRA proving ground in the Midlands, including 30-60mph acceleration, 30-0mph braking, a hill start and an emergency lane-change test.
Other technical data is taken into account when judging upon each model contending the Towcar Awards. This includes details such as boot space, how easily extension mirrors can be fitted, and whether the spare wheel provision is suitable for towing.
The judging panel for the 2013 Towcar Awards came to be particularly impressed by the Dacia Duster dCi 110 Ambiance, which is currently priced at £13,495.
Describing the Dacia Duster as "a lot of tow car for very little money", the Awards judging panel further commented: "That price isn't a misprint. For less than you'd pay for the tiny Kia Rio three-door, Dacia will sell you a five-seat 4x4 - the Duster is undeniably a bargain."
"It makes a decent tow car, too - In fact, we'd be happy to tow on long motorway journeys with the Duster."
Dacia officially launched to the UK market only back in January 2013. Since then already though the Renault-owned brand has taken as many as nine major awards, including three accolades at the carbuyer.co.uk 2013 awards. Accolades won from carbuyer.co.uk include Car of Year and 4x4 of the Year.
Dacia has also won the Scottish Car of the Year accolade thanks to the Duster 4x4, and Best Supermini under £12,000 for the Sandero from What Car? magazine.
The current and complete Dacia UK model line-up is available to motorists now at Perrys Dacia Dealership based in Aylesbury.
