Mazda New 2 - Overview

2020 Mazda2

The Mazda2 is something of a marvel. It takes the luxury, refinement and technologies of Mazda’s bigger cars and condenses them into a compact package. The result is a city car that’s just at home cruising the breadth of Britain as it is twisty streets. Throw in those handsome good looks and a suite of useful features like climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and rear parking sensors (all of which are equipped as standard), and what you have is the smartest and sassiest small car money can buy.

Choose from SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport Nav and GT Sport Nav grades. A new 7” infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto is standard from SE-L Nav grade onwards, while Sport Nav models add LED headlights. Top-spec GT-Line models take luxury up a level with leather upholstery and a digital head-up display.

Exterior

Exterior - Mazda’s Kodo exterior design language instils a sense of motion into the body of the Mazda2. The bodywork reflects and plays with light and shadows in interesting ways, to make the car appear as if it were moving when still. To look at, the Mazda2 is beautiful - and you don’t say that about many small cars. Sport Nav and GT Sport Nav models are enhanced further by signature LED headlights and 16” alloy wheels.

Interior

Interior - First-class ergonomics and build quality await. There’s a new 7-inch infotainment system and an updated instrument binnacle. The infotainment system is controlled via physical controls located ahead of the handbrake. It’s easy to control when driving and keeps grubby fingerprints from the glossy display. It’s easy to get comfortable, and if you like luxury, check out the GT Sport Nav model which has leather upholstery.

Creature comforts

Creature comforts

The Mazda2 doesn’t skimp on standard features. Even entry-level SE-L models have front and rear electric windows, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and automatic wipers.

Active Driving Display

Active Driving Display

A standard feature on GT Sport Nav models, the Active Driving Display puts important information in your line of sight above the instrument binnacle. It can display things like car speed, satellite navigation directions and safety messages.

Signature LED headlights

Signature LED headlights

The signature LED headlights on Sport Nav and GT Sport Nav models look superb. They also light up the road with superior performance to halogens. They’re fully automatic and have LED daytime running lights incorporated into their design.

Skyactiv-G engine

Skyactiv-G engine

The 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine that powers the Mazda2 is a peach. It’s smooth and flexible, with a slick 6-speed manual transmission to whip through. It’ll return up to 53.3mpg combined (WLTP) with CO2 emissions of 95 g/km.
