The Kia XCeed is a sporty alternative to traditional larger SUVs, with coupé-like styling and a sharper driving experience. And yet, it crams a big boot into its body and the smartest technology out there. It’s all the car you need. Choose from ‘2’, ‘3’ and First Edition trim levels, with LED headlights, cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist and High Beam Assist on all models. All models also feature a reversing camera, with an 8” touchscreen on ‘2’ models and an upgraded 10.25” touchscreen on ‘3’ and First Edition models. Wireless phone charging, heated seats and Smart Park Assist are also available as standard to make motoring a doddle.
The XCeed’s intoxicating combination of swooping roofline, roof bars and elevated ride height give it serious kerb appeal. This is a crossover that stands out from the crowd for all the right reasons. First Edition models come equipped with a panoramic sunroof as standard. LED headlights, LED fog lights and LED rear lights are standard across the range, so whichever model you choose, you’ll look top spec.
The XCeed’s interior is logically laid out, with buttons in the right places and a smart 8” or 10.25” touchscreen. Controlling your media and phone is easy using the steering-wheel controls, or you can use voice commands if you wish. The quality is brilliant, with eco-leather upholstery available and a driver’s memory seat on First Edition models. There’s space for the whole family too, with ISOFIX on the rear seats.
Choose a 1.0 T-GDi (118bhp), 1.4 T-GDi (138bhp), 1.6 T-GDi (201bhp) or 1.6 CRDi (134bhp) engine to suit your driving style and annual mileage. Fuel economy ranges from 40.9mpg combined to 53.3mpg combined under WLTP testing, making the XCeed one of the cleanest and most efficient crossovers on the road.
Space and practicality
The XCeed’s boot is bigger than the Ceed hatchback’s. At 426-litres, it offers a decent amount of space, easily accommodating a large suitcase and a smaller one, or a pram travel system without issue. A Smart Power Tailgate is standard on First Edition models to make access easy. Roof bars are standard across the range.
Safety and assistance
With Intelligent Stop & Go, cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist and High Beam Assist, the XCeed takes your safety seriously. First Edition models get upgraded Smart Cruise Control and Blind Spot Collision Warning to make motorway journeys safer. ‘3’ models onwards also have an automatic, electronic handbrake.
The 10.25” touchscreen on ‘3’ and First Edition models is wonderful with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But the pièce de résistance is the customisable 12.3” Supervision Cluster Display on First Edition models, which replaces the analogue dials in ‘2’ and ‘3’ models for a more immersive driving experience.
