Apprentice Service Technician

Location: Perrys

Department: Workshop

Contract Type: Apprenticeship, Full-time

Duration: 3+ Years

About the Apprentice Technician Programme

Start your career with a nationally recognised qualification through our Apprentice Technician Programme. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and become the next generation of skilled technicians. This programme is designed to provide you with a blend of practical, on-the-job training and essential theoretical knowledge.

Your journey begins with a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship, a comprehensive 30-month course. You will spend four days a week at one of our Perrys sites, gaining hands-on experience and working alongside experienced professionals. The remaining time is dedicated to focused training, which is provided through block release with our manufacturer partners. This means you will attend intensive, multi-day training sessions to learn the theory behind the practical work. This is the standard method for all our manufacturer-partnered apprenticeships. However, if we utilise a local college for training, it may be structured as day release.

During the programme, you will learn a wide range of skills, from basic servicing and vehicle health checks to diagnosing complex electrical faults and overhauling major components. Upon successful completion of the Level 2 programme, you will progress to a Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship, which can pave the way for advanced roles such as a Master Technician or supervisory and management positions.

Salary & Entry Requirements

We offer a competitive apprentice salary, which will be discussed with you during the application process. A fully qualified technician can earn up to £32,000 per year, in addition to other benefits.

To be eligible, you must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Have or be working toward a GCSE grade 4-9 (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a science or technical subject.
