Vauxhall Launches New 17-Seat Movano Minibus

The people carrier version of the large panel van has been designed with comfort in mind for passengers.

This includes easy entry via a sliding door and electronically operated side step, while passengers gain down-lighting, aisle lights, air conditioning and overhead coat racks as the boxy van interior is transformed into a people carrier.

The seating is laid out in rows of three, with two on one side of the aisle and a single seat on the other. The back two rows can also be removed completely if more luggage space is needed.

The van comes with standard safety features such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to prevent the van rolling in corners alongside traction control as standard.

These help to improve performance from the 2.3-litre CDTi engine used in van versions of the Movano. The 135bhp engine is also Euro 5 complaint - meanings it meets all the emissions criteria for London's low emissions zones.

A manual or automated manual Tecshift gearbox is available on the Movano Minibus, which is available now at a price of around £35,000 once VAT is added to the £29,500 price tag.

The factory-built minibus has been launched to complement two new people carriers based on the smaller Vauxhall Combi in the brand's van range.

The six- and nine-seat Vauxhall Combi start from £28,665 on-the-road and come with sliding door access and restraints for the load area.

Both use derivatives of the 2.3-litre diesel engine. The six-seat Combi comes with a 100bhp version, while the nine-seat shares the 125bhp unit with the Vauxhall Movano Minibus and adds a more powerful 150bhp option as well.

All three new Vauxhall people carriers are available to order now from Vauxhall dealerships.
