Renault Captur UK prices and launch date confirmed
The Captur, Renault's groundbreaking new compact crossover car has been confirmed to start UK orders from 1 May 2013, with the first units arriving to showrooms on 1 July the same year.
Prices will start from £12,495 on-the-road for the Renault Captur, which was revealed just a month ago at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Captur is ambitiously aiming to replicate the success of the supermini of which it shares many underpinnings, the Renault Clio.
Four separate trim levels will be sold for the Renault Captur, starting with Expression and followed by Expression+, Dynamique MediaNav and finally Dynamique S MediaNav.
Every specification is available with two 89bhp engines, featuring fuel-saving stop-start engine technology as standard. The engines in question include a 0.9-litre TCe petrol unit and the other is a 1.5-litre dCi diesel unit.
A third engine is available with the Dynamique Media Nav and Dynamique S Media Nav versions of the Captur. They add an 119bhp 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine, which is linked to an Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) gearbox.
These top two trim levels also offer the EDC gearbox with the dCi diesel engine, which will also reportedly get a separate automatic gearbox later on this year.
With the standard five-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5-litre diesel gives the Captur a CO2 output of 95g/km. With the 0.9-litre petrol unit the CO2 output is 115g/km while the 1.2-litre petrol engine emits 125g/km.
The basic Expression-trim Renault Captur includes some luxury equipment such as 16" alloy wheels, cruise control, a speed limiter and a trip computer.
The Expression+ model, which starts from £14,495, adds more kit including front fog lights, body coloured door mirrors and handles, automatic headlights and climate control.
The Dynamique Media Nav trim begins from £14,995 and it brings more equipment to the Renault Captur. Additions include the MediaNav infotainment system complete with a 7" touchscreen. This device supports satellite navigation, Bluetooth plus USB and hands-free technology.
This trim level for the Catpur also features zipped seat covers and a customisable chrome Colour pack.
The range-topping Dynamique S Media Nav version of the Captur begins at £16,495. This is the flagship model for the Renault crossover and it features electric folding door mirrors and rear parking sensors as part of the Captur's City Pack.
The top of the range Renault Captur also features heated front seats, a contrasting roof and door mirror colour, tinted rear windows and 17" alloy wheels.
On top of all this there are also four optional styling packs, each with a distinct theme of their own.
One pack is called the Exterior Gloss Pack, it costs £350 and it adds either Arizona, Gloss Black or Ivory side sill protector inserts, tailgate strip, new fog light surrounds and co-ordinated 17" alloy wheels
The Interior Touch Pack also costs £350 to add, it features new trim for the centre console, speakers and air vents.
The £150 Style Pack includes distinct details on the seat upholstery and steering wheel.
Finally the £550 Colour Pack throws in the contrasting roof paintjob, even if your Captur is not in the range-topping trim. This pack also adds its own distinct colour touches for the interior and exterior.
Heated front seats are also available as an optional pack for £250 where it's not standard, along with the City Pack priced at £395.
Three types of decal designs are also thrown in as additional options, emphasising the high level of customisation Renault has opted to give its first compact crossover car.
For the Captur you can add the Arizona roof decal, reflecting the unique insect spine design of the original concept's roof, this costs £250. The other decal options, called Miami and Manhattan, are the same price but apply to the bonnet and tailgate.
With so many different trim levels and option packs on offer, Renault will feel confident they can offer crossover buyers something for everyone with its first entry into the market.
The Renault Captur will be available to order next month from Perrys Renault Dealership in Aylesbury.
