Vauxhall has announced that the all-new Viva city car will be priced from £7,995 when it arrives in UK dealerships later this summer.

The new five-door entry level model will sit below the ADAM and the Corsa supermini in Vauxhall’s range, and is available in two trim levels: SE and SL, a name carried over from the original model.

On top of that, Air Con and ecoFLEX versions of the SE trim will be available, offering greater flexibility and bringing the total number of available models up to four.

Four models to choose from

Tim Tozer, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director, said: “Short, crisp and full of character, Vauxhall’s new entry-level model is a proper small car and will hold great appeal in this rapidly growing sector.

“In showrooms this summer priced from £7,995 on-the-road, VIVA joins new Corsa and ADAM in a compelling small car portfolio, giving Vauxhall an unrivalled position in the small car market.”

The new Viva comes complete with a comprehensive range of features and kit as standard, with the entry-level model getting 15-inch wheels, front fog lights and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Like the ADAM and Corsa, it also features a ‘city mode’ button, which increases steering response to make parking in tight spaces easier, plus safety kit which includes ABS and traction control.

As well as that, the SE features cruise control, a multi-function trip computer and a stereo radio with steering wheel-mounted audio controls in addition to electric windows and heated door mirrors.

For extra practicality, the Viva also features a tiltable steering column, a height-adjustable drivers seats, plus a 60:40 split folding rear seat and a removable luggage compartment cover.

The SE Air Con adds air conditioning, while the SE ecoFLEX benefits from a front lip spoiler, a larger rear spoiler with integrated brake light and ultra-low rolling resistance tyres.

Priced from £8,170 on the road, the SE ecoFLEX also boasts the best fuel economy figures of the line-up, able to achieve as much as 65.7mpg with a road tax-busting 99g/km of CO2 emitted.

Impressive range of features

Finally, the range-topping SL trim, which is priced from £9,495, features electronic climate control, Morocanna seat trim and a leather steering wheel, in addition to 15-inch alloy wheels.

Other highlights of the SL include six speakers, USB audio connection and Bluetooth connectivity, while available options include rear parking sensors, a glass sunroof and heated seats.

Following its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show early last month, the all-new Vauxhall Viva is due to officially go on sale at Perrys Vauxhall dealerships in the summer.
