Prices & Specs Announced for New Hyundai i40

Hyundai has officially announced prices and specs for the recently facelifted 2015 version of the i40 Saloon and Tourer range.

Available to order in the UK now, the new i40 range is priced between £19,600 for the entry-level S trim Saloon and £28,850 for the range-topping Premium Tourer model.

The manufacturer has updated the model range with various new features, including a new front grille and bumper, plus reshaped front and rear lights for a more contemporary look.

Facelifted exterior and interior upgrades

As well as that, Hyundai has also tweaked the engines, transmission and also the ride and handling of the i40 range, and also added a range of new safety and convenience features.

Four trim options are available with the new i40, starting with the base S model, the new mid-range SE Nav and SE Nav business trims and finally the top-of-the-range Premium models.

Standard equipment across the range is extensive, with 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning, plus a leather steering wheel with audio and phone controls, and automatic headlights.

The new SE Nav trim, meanwhile, adds a touchscreen satnav system with a rear-view parking camera and parking guidance system to make it easier for drivers to navigate into tight spaces.

Mid-range models also feature DAB digital radio, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and an upgraded sound system, along with climate control, heated front seats and LED front fog lights.

Enhancing the SE Nav model further, the SE Nav Business adds keyless smart entry with a start-stop button and a memory function which automatically adjusts the position of the driver’s seat.

Finally, range-topping Premium models come with larger 18-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof and a luggage net, alongside safety systems like lane departure warning and an LCD instrument cluster.

'Fresher and more dynamic'

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai UK’s president and CEO, commented: “The introduction of New i40 Tourer and Saloon means that the Hyundai range now has a fresher and more dynamic look, with changes aimed to appeal particularly to the requirements of our fleet customers.

“The addition of the SE Nav as a new trim level provides a clear differentiator from the traditional SE models and identifies the standardisation of our highly capable navigation system.”

Power comes from a 1.7-litre diesel engine with a choice of two outputs ranging between 113bhp and 139bhp and also a choice of six-speed manual transmissions or seven-speed automatic.
