New Alfa Romeo MiTo on sale in UK now
Alfa Romeo has revised the interior of the 2014 MiTo, along with offering customers higher specification and even more advanced technologies.
The supermini's interior now features new dashboards, upgraded plastics and a new Uconnect five-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with voice recognition, steering wheel remote controls, Bluetooth, USB/Aux ports and optional sat-nav.
Externally, the 2014 Alfa Romeo MiTo has benefitted from a new, chromed front grille, as well as tinted rear windows, sports rear bumper and titanium grey headlamps and tail lamps surrounds.
Alfa's new supermini is available to UK customers in four trim levels: entry-level 'Sprint' models, upgraded 'Distinctive' versions, further enhanced 'Sportiva' variants and the range-topping 'Quadrifoglio Verde' (QV) specification.
As standard, all Alfa MiTo models come equipped with Start/Stop technology, alloy wheels, air conditioning, front fog lamps, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, seven airbags and electric windows and mirrors.
The upgraded 'Distinctive' versions add 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and cruise control to the mix, while the further enhanced 'Sportiva' variants comes with additional 18-inch QV sports alloy wheels, QV steering wheel and hand-brake lever, satin-effect exterior highlights and special badges.
Top of the range 'QV'-specified models are the high-performance MiTo versions and, as such, come with sporty features such as bespoke sports seats with uprated upholstery, SDC active suspension system, special QV wing badges and red, four-piston Brembo brake callipers.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo engine line-up now consists of five turbo-charged engines: three petrol units and two diesel powerplants.
The 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo engine has received a 20bhp performance boost to 105bhp, which has improved this particular model's 0-62mph time by 1.1 seconds. Although performance has been boosted, the model is still efficient, offering fuel economy of 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
Rounding-of the petrol engine range is a 135bhp 1.4-litre TB MultiAir unit (which is available with either a manual gearbox or the Alfa TCT twin dry clutch transmission) and a 170bhp 1.4-litre TB MultiAir QV powerplant.
The diesel line-up comprises an 85bhp 1.3-litre JTDM-2 unit and a 120bhp 1.6-litre JTDM-2 powerplant.
Prices for the 2014 Alfa Romeo MiTo supermini start at £14,350 for the base version, rising to £18,995 for the range-topping 'Quadrifoglio Verde' model.
