Jaguar Land Rover Welcome 600 Graduates into the Company

Jaguar Land Rover have welcomed a record 600 new graduates into the company to be the future designers, technicians and more. This is, so far, the highest number of new intakes the company has ever had.

Business Secretary, Sajid Javid was there on hand to help officially welcome the 600 new graduates to JLR along with Dr Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer. Mr Javid praised JLR for using all this home grown talent and for being at what he called the heart of the British Motoring renaissance. He also said “It is great for Britain that we have got such a successful automotive industry and the graduates and apprentices joining Jaguar Land Rover this week will have an important role to play in building on that success in the future.”

The JLR graduate, advanced and higher apprentice programmes have seen over 2500 people start their careers with the company since 2000, this year’s in take is certainly the biggest yet but may not be the biggest in years to come. Dr Ralf Speth said “I am proud to welcome tomorrow’s engineers, technicians and innovators at the very beginning of their career with the company. This is an exciting time to join our business. We are investing significantly in the future of Jaguar Land Rover by creating very special vehicles for our discerning customers and, just as importantly by employing and developing the highly skilled people that will help ensure our continued success.”

First Day

The new arrivals will start their training in the Jaguar Land Rover academy which was formally launched this week. This learning structure and resource system will not only help the new recruits but also current staff. It is geared towards full career development for staff right through their time with JLR which is hopefully long and fruitful. The aim is life long learning and and the academy programme will support staff in changing economic and business environments as well as with more day to day learning within the company.

Investment

This level of investment in staff is a sure fire way to make sure the company succeeds in it’s goals. By looking after its staff properly JLR can continue to grow and be a true global force. This all comes at a time when the brand are about to launch into a brand new segment with the much talked about F-Pace SUV Crossover. It is growth like this that needs cutting edge staff as well as design and JLR are making sure they have heavily invested in their own future by investing in their staff now.
