Keeping Your Vehicle Roadworthy

As a car owner, you are responsible for keeping your vehicle roadworthy and that means you need regular MOTs and Services to uncover any potential dangers or issues that have the opportunity to become bigger problems.

Does my car need an MOT?

An MOT is a legal requirement and must be conducted annually on any vehicle that is not considered SORN. We offer competitive pricing on MOT and we also use genuine parts should anything need repair as a result of being identified during the MOT test.

Do you supply parts?

Here at Perrys, we can supply you with the parts you need for your car. We offer genuine parts for most manufacturers at competitive pricing. Whether you are looking for small parts or accessories to a major replacement, our trained team would be happy to help source the part you need.

What is a car Service?

Having your vehicle serviced regularly is all part of being a responsible car owner. Regular servicing also helps find potential issues with your car before they become bigger problems.

A vehicle service will involve a series of checks and changes to ensure your car is running at optimum performance whilst also preventing any nasty surprises later down the line, or when you least expect them.

How often should I have my car serviced?

There are different levels of service to suit your situation, usually based on the age and mileage of the car.

As a rule of thumb, every 6 months for an Interim Service and every 12 months for a Full Service. A Major Service should be conducted every 24 months, in place of the Full Service.

What does a car service include?

Most servicing packages will include checking wheel balance, top-up coolant, and top-up power steering fluid to name a few, but Major Services will include the most amount of checks and top-ups.

We also offer service plans that can help you spread the cost of servicing and also come with a range of benefits.

Why should I service my car?

Although it is not a legal requirement like an MOT, it’s important to take care of the working components of your car, for example poorly maintained tyres can blow out, potentially causing a serious accident.

The costs associated with repairs that could have been prevented with an annual service can be much more costly than the service itself, so it’s important to keep your car roadworthy as well as prevent any unwanted repairs later down the line.

Regular servicing will also benefit you when you come to sell your car, as an up-to-date service book will offer the buyer complete peace of mind that the vehicle they are purchasing has been inspected by professionals on a regular basis.
