VW BlueMotion Touareg available to order
Motorists looking for a new off-road vehicle may want to pay a visit to their local Volkswagen dealership.The manufacturer has announced it is now taking orders for a BlueMotion edition of the Touareg.
Fitted with a more economical version of the usual 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel engine, the car could help owners cut their carbon footprint while also offering excellent performance.
With CO2 emissions of 219 g/km, the model still boasts a top speed of 126 mph and can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen claimed it is one of the only non-hybrid cars in its sector to dip below the 225 g/km barrier.
The company added drivers can expect to save about £400 a year on tax and fuel, compared to those behind the wheel of the standard Touareg model.
In other news, the manufacturer recently described its new Golf estate as being greener, safer and smarter than its predecessor.
