Volkswagen unveils new concept car
Motorists who swear by Volkswagen may be keen to check out the manufacturer's latest vehicle.The Concept BlueSport is a roadster design study that combines a highly-efficient diesel engine with a lightweight chassis, the company explained.
Capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds and with a top speed of 140 mph, the vehicle is powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-litre TDI engine.
Volkswagen stated it had made use of lightweight material in order to create a model which is both economical and agile.
It pointed out the car can achieve 65 mpg and emits 113 g/km of carbon dioxide.
The manufacturer added the fuel economy can be improved and the CO2 emissions reduced further by using the Eco model function.
When brought into play, this activates a stop-start system and braking energy regeneration.
Volkswagen said it had no immediate plans for production.
Last month, the manufacturer's new Golf Plus made its debut at the Bologna motor show.
