Volkswagen Passat MkV recommended to used car buyers
Motorists looking for a second-hand car with a slow depreciation rate have had their attention drawn to the Volkswagen Passat MkV by an independent motoring journalist.Writing for Auto Express, Ian Cushway has singled out the vehicle for praise in a comparative study of used Passats from various eras.
Specifically, he has highlighted the fact that the MkV benefits from the wide availability of "quality spares", while running costs are described as being "low".
Moreover, both the interior and exterior of the vehicle show "improved design" over its predecessor, the MkIV.
"The smooth styling still looks good today and, despite truly affordable prices, it holds the premium appeal many newer mainstream cars would dream of," he concluded.
However, buyers who would prefer to purchase a new vehicle may wish to visit a Volkswagen car dealership to test-drive models such as the Polo, the Golf Plus, the New Beetle or the Eos.
