Volkswagen Group delivers increased profit growth
The Volkswagen Group sold a record-breaking number of vehicles worldwide during the first three months of 2008.According to the German-based firm, some 1.57 million units were bought by consumers over the period - an increase of seven per cent over the same period last year.
The Audi brand registered growth of €113 million (£88 million) in growth during this time, included in which is the profit made by the Lamborghini brand.
And executives from the company have commented that they are expecting big things from the coming year.
"New market segments are being developed and the product portfolio is being selectively expanded. As a result, deliveries to customers will be above the previous year's record level," the company stated.
This comes as Volkswagen has recently signed a deal to sponsor US football team DC United - a team which plays in the same league as David Beckham's LA Galaxy.
