Volkswagen Golf scoops two awards
People looking for a vehicle that can pull a caravan and help them reduce their carbon footprint may find their local Volkswagen dealership can help.The manufacturer's Golf model has just received a couple of accolades at the annual Towcar Awards.
It came first in the under 1,425 kg class and also took the green honour.
Matthew Eastlake, marketing and communications director with the Camping and Caravanning Club, explained the reasons behind the accolades.
He stated: "The aim is to provide campers and caravanners with the very best and latest information about the leading vehicles suitable for towing."
The Golf was praised for its good value, excellent eco credentials, high residual prices and on-road practicalities.
Some 39 autos were tested for this year's awards.
In related motoring news, Volkswagen recently published a guide advising motorists of the cars in its range that offer CO2 emissions of 160 g/km or less.
The group suggested the document would be particularly useful for fleet bosses.
