Visits to VW dealerships may have remained steady in face of recession
The number of motorists visiting their local Volkswagen car dealership over recent weeks may not have been too badly affected by the economic downturn, if new figures are anything to go by.Data from the manufacturer has shown the company increased global deliveries last month, despite the recession.
The number of autos distributed around the world rose by 6.7 per cent.
However, the firm said it was not getting carried away as there are no clear indications the economic downturn is coming to an end.
Nevertheless, Detlef Wittig, executive vice-president of sales and marketing with the group, stated: "We are making good progress and winning market share worldwide."
He added: "That proves we are present on the right markets with the right products at the right time."
July was the third month in a row Volkswagen has managed to increase global deliveries.
Meanwhile, the new Golf Plus BlueMotion may encourage even more motorists to visit their local Volkswagen dealership.
