A Volkswagen car deal may be a great choice for anyone with an interest in multi-purpose vehicles, judging by the details of the company's Amarok model.The motor will be the official support vehicle for the upcoming Dakar Rally - and appears to be up to job of overcoming a wide range of terrains.
Rated by the manufacturer for its durability and robust nature, the new pickup will act as a press vehicle and a carrier for the company's motorsports crew.
In January 2010, a total of 35 Amaroks will be rolled out for the showpiece, which begins in Buenos Aires.
Kris Nissen, the carmaker's motorsport director, said he was pleased to see the vehicle chosen "because the Dakar Rally demands the highest levels of technical perfection, reliability and endurance.
"The Amarok is exactly the right vehicle for our team."
Elsewhere, racing fans may be pleased by news that Volkswagen has launched a range of clothes and accessories - including polo shirts, all-weather jackets and sports bags.
