Sports stars 'big on Volkswagen car'
Motorists looking to take out a Volkswagen car deal may be interested to learn that the Scirocco model appears to be popular with racing stars.Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button and Dakar Rally winner Giniel de Villiers were among those who got inside the vehicle for the Race of Champions in Beijing.
The motor sports version of the Scirocco sports coupe comes complete with a 2.0-litre TSI engine, allowing some of the world's best drivers to zoom around the Chinese capital's Olympic Stadium.
Legendary racers in attendance included seven-times Formula 1 title holder Michael Schumacher and the UK's David Coulthard.
Recently, the carmaker announced details of the Golf BlueMotion, which it claims will be the cleanest model in the range yet.
Available at £17,325, the motor features a combined fuel economy of 74.3 miles per gallon and carbon dioxide emissions of 99 grams per kilometre.
Moreover, it can reach speeds of 118 miles per hour.
