Scirocco returns 'most advanced VW coupe'
The new Scirocco from Volkswagen (VW) is the most technologically advanced and dynamic production coupe the firm has ever produced.According to the German automobile manufacturer, the vehicle is has an "aggressive yet cohesive" exterior styling while inside the model is "airy and light".
The design comes from Volkswagen chief designer Klaus Bischoff, taking inspiration from the Iroc Concept from 2006's Paris Motor Show, while the car also draws from 1974's original Scirocco.
VW stated: "The mix of distinctive coupe styling, a practical hatchback boot, a transversely mounted four-cylinder engine channelling drive through the front wheels and sharp, responsive dynamics that made the Scirocco such a success at launch in 1974 remains."
This comes as VW launches its environmentally-friendly hybrid diesel Golf at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
According to Auto Bild, the model gets 69.9 mpg while emitting 90 g per km CO2.
