New Scirocco 'most powerful ever'
More motorists may be tempted to visit Volkswagen dealerships up and down the country later this year in order to check out a new addition to the manufacturer's line-up.The Scirocco R is scheduled for release before the end of 2009 and its creator said the car is more powerful than any of its previous incarnations.
According to the group, the model can achieve better acceleration than its predecessors because it boasts 265 PS and torque of 258 lb ft.
This is an increase of 65 PS and 51 lbs ft compared to the current model with a 2.0-litre TSI engine.
Buyers will find their car comes equipped with a range of standard equipment, including 18-inch five-spoke wheels, Adaptive Chassis Control and a six-speed manual or DSG gearbox.
The vehicle will be unveiled to the crowds at the Nurburgring 24 hrs this weekend.
Meanwhile, car buyers will find Volkswagen is one of the manufacturers that have signed up to the government's scrappage scheme.
