New Golfs may attract more green motorists to Volkswagen dealerships
More green-minded motorists may end up making their way to Volkswagen dealerships up and down the country as a result of the latest additions to the manufacturer's line-up.The company has revealed it is releasing three new versions of the Golf.
All of the cars are equipped with a 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine and produce less than 120 g/km of CO2.
However, Volkswagen pointed out the greenest of the three new vehicles is the BlueMotion Golf.
This car boasts CO2 emissions of 107 g/km and fuel economy of 68.9 mpg.
As a result, the auto qualifies for annual road tax of £35 a year and may allow drivers to travel further between trips to the pump.
Volkswagen explained: "The gains in efficiency are made possible through a combination of subtle yet effective changes to the vehicle's drivetrain and aerodynamics."
In other news, the manufacturer's Phaeton came top in the luxury car category at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards recently.
