Low-emitting VW Polo BlueMotion "benchmark model"
most efficient liquid-fuelled vehicles in the world when its Polo BlueMotion rolls into dealerships.The car consumes 74.3 mpg of fuel while emitting 99 g per km of carbon dioxide, making it a potential favourite for environmentally-friendly drivers.
Indeed, the vehicle has been called a "highly efficient, practical and benchmark model" by Vincent Kinner, head of VW Fleet Services.
This marks the latest Polo in the range's 32-year history, during which it has been primarily a hatchback, as well as a saloon, a coupe and an estate.
Mr Kinner added: "New BlueMotion products will enhance our choice to customers in future. Transport is changing and we recognise customers - particularly in cities - are seeking new mobility solutions."
Meanwhile, members of the pay-as-you-go club Streetcar will be testing the BlueMotion across 25 areas of London.
