Liverpool green car show to feature Volkswagen Caddy EcoFuel
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced that it will be showing off its new prototype gas-powered Caddy EcoFuel at the Green-Car-Guide Live! 2008, a one-day motor show in Liverpool.The event takes place on June 12th and will show off the latest developments in the energy efficient vehicles sector, including the Volkswagen Caddy EcoFuel, an alternatively fuelled vehicle that can operate either on compressed natural gas (CNG) or biomethane.
The vehicle is already available in mainland Europe and will be released in the UK later this year. The model being displayed at the show is the first right-hand-drive prototype of the vehicle, and will provide businesses with lower and cleaner vehicle emissions, as well as reduced fuel costs.
Its 2.0 litre 109 PS petrol engine operates primarily on CNG with a small petrol reserve, and provides the vehicle with a range of up to 350 miles.
While integrating the gas fuel tanks into the design, VW has also been sure not to compromise on load space and the vehicle is able to take a payload of up to 665 kg.
The office can be fuelled at the office with a 'Phill' refuelling device and VW is providing trials for organisations interested in purchasing the vehicle.
