Vauxhall Vectra engine upgraded
The Vauxhall Vectra's engine has been revamped to increase engine performance, according to reports.Due next year, engineers have tweaked the turbocharged 2.8-litre engine of the 2007 Vauxhall Vectra VXR.
Consequently, the hatchback can now reach 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds, while the estate counterpart can achieve the same rate of acceleration in 6.3 seconds.
A redesigned induction system and a retuning of engine-control software are thought to be behind the increase in sprint times, which could be of interest to drivers who are searching for a pacy car to replace their current vehicle.
Moreover, the manufacturer has added further additions to tune the Vectra VXR, which should be available from all Vauxhall dealerships.
Activated from a switch on the dashboard, the difference between normal chassis setting and sport setting has been increased to help it appeal to a broader cross-section of motorists.
Throughout the rest of Europe, the Vauxhall vehicle range is sold under the Opel brand.
The Vectra model is produced at the Russelsheim factory in Germany and marketed on the continent as the Opel Vectra.
