Vauxhall Corsa's green credentials noted
A Portsmouth-based training provider has introduced a company car scheme involving a fleet of Vauxhall Corsas.By doing this, VT Education and Skills is "significantly" improving safety for its employees and reducing its carbon footprint, the manufacturer states.
Mark Mardell, supply chain director at the organisation states it was "critical" to choose the most appropriate make and model of car on which to base the scheme.
The Vauxhall Corsa 1.3CDTi 16v (75PS) was chosen based on a number of criteria, including good residual value, sustainability, fuel efficiency and low emissions of 119g/km.
According to the car maker: "The result is a reduction in carbon emissions of 48.6 tonnes a year from the initial pilot involving 50 Corsas."
In recent days, the readers of road safety publication adiNEWS voted the Vauxhall Corsa as Britain's Training Car of the Year for the fourth time in a row.
The car took 43.9 per cent of the votes.
