Vauxhall revealed a replacement for its high-performance Monaro coupe in the form of the VXR8 – which, like the Monaro, hails from Australia.
However, unlike its raucous predecessor, the VXR8 is a four-door saloon with space for the family.
With the same six-litre V8 engine that equipped the Monaro, drivers can expect similar performance from the VXR8, except with more room for luggage and passengers.
Motorists looking for a Vauxhall car dealership to try out the VXR8 may wish to know that it will cost £34,995 for the standard model, although various extras like satellite navigation are available.
Based on a car from Australian General Motors marque Holden, the new Vauxhall car is capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds – although the manufacturers have not compromised on comfort in attaining high performance.
The VXR8 comes with leather upholstery and climate control, although an automatic gearbox is a £1,400 optional extra.
Holden, which also manufactured the Monaro, is General Motors' brand name in Australia and New Zealand.
