Vauxhall has revamped the Meriva model, featuring a spruced up new style and new technology as the car company continues to move its ranges forward.

The new Meriva boasts a refreshed front end, with a reprofiled bumper and more prominent V-grille, bringing the mini-MPV into line with the latest Vauxhall family style.

Vauxhall has also fitted dark rear lamp lenses and a classy chrome strip across the tailgate. New paint schemes and wheels create a stylish new look, in combination with a revised cabin, featuring extra chrome detailing and fresh fabrics.

Two new engines are also available. The 1.3-litre CDTi diesel, as used in Corsa and Tigra, appears in Meriva for the first time, as does the 1.6-litre petrol 105PS Twinport engine used in Astra and Zafira.

Other New Meriva features include a power release tailgate and remote control activated interior lighting, meaning motorists should be able to find their way back to the car even on the darkest of nights.

However, while the Meriva boasts all the advantages of a small car, it also offers generous storage and plenty of comfortable seating, and can be quickly transformed from a five-seater into a four, three or two-seater.

The new Meriva will be the first of several new products to join the Vauxhall line-up in 2006, with prices starting at £9,995.
