Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 'offers plenty of passenger room'

The 1.4 litre-engine Vauxhall Corsa is a family-friendly supermini with plenty of passenger room and appealing looks, according to a new vehicle review.

The Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16 V, which is available in three-door and five-door models, has a fuel-consumption rate of 47.9 mpg and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 11.5 seconds.

However, families will be interested to know that this supermini has a variety of devices to improve space-efficiency despite its small-vehicle classification, reports the Independent.

For instance, the boot has a false floor designed to create a flat-load platform when lowering the rear seats, while the rear-shelf can even be stored behind the back seat.

Moreover, the Vauxhall Corsa features an optional FlexFix system for £500, which is effectively a custom-built bike carrier that is stored in the back bumper for family expeditions, which reviewer John Simister describes as "a touch of genius".

"It's a promising car…with many fine features and highly appealing looks," says Mr Simister.

"The driving position is excellent…the seats are very comfortable and supportive, the steering wheel can be adjusted for reach as well as rake and you get used to the thickness of the windscreen pillars after a time."

Vauxhall currently offers a range of different Corsas for its customers, including the Expression, Life and Design models.
