Vauxhall Astra tops sales charts
The Vauxhall Astra has become the most popular vehicle in the UK, according to the latest figures.Official statistics show that a total of 10,425 Astras were sold in June 2007 - more than any other motor in the country and 29.6 per cent more than in the same month of 2006.
Meanwhile, Vauxhall also sold 8,980 Corsas last month, placing it within the top-ten list of most popular vehicles.
Bill Parfitt, managing director at Vauxhall Motors, has commented on the figures.
"Models such as the Astra and Corsa are clearly hitting the right spot with the public and it's truly encouraging to see that there has been a sharp increase in sales to private customers," he said.
Earlier this month, the British-based automaker announced it was cutting prices across its range of motoring accessories.
It means that Vauxhall Astra owners will now be able enjoy a ten per cent discount on in-vehicle DVDs, which may help entertain young children on lengthy car journeys.
