Volkswagen Eos praised
Car buyers looking for a convertible may be convinced to check out the Volkswagen Eos after hearing the comments of one motoring journalist.In an article in the Times, Giles Smith said the vehicle benefits from the fact it was designed to be an open-top ride.
"It was built specifically to be a convertible - it's not just a pre-existing model with its roof sliced off," he explained.
The writer also claimed the car is powerful but relaxed and provides a dynamic driving experience without being frightening.
He added the vehicle is "furiously well-built" and pointed out buyers can opt for a Golf GTI engine if they choose wisely.
The model can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds, before powering on to a top speed of 142 mph.
Prices for the car start at £28,310.
