UK growth recorded by Lamborghini
Italian automobile manufacturer Lamborghini has revealed that it sold more vehicles in the UK in 2007 than in 2006.The company states that there was an increase of up to 40 per cent in sales to British motorists over the course of the year.
Stephen Winkelmann, president and chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, noted that 2007 was "an exceptional year" for the brand.
"This success is the direct result of increased brand awareness and brand image, as well as the increase in our dealer network and overall product strategy," commented the official.
Furthermore, European sales also went up, with 959 vehicles sold, Lamborghini added.
Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the automobile manufacturer in 1963, although it has since gone on to become a part of German firm Volkswagen.
Perhaps the most well-known Lamborghini model is the Diablo, of which the firm produced 290,000 from 1990 to 2001.
