SEAT unveils Ibiza SportCoupe
SEAT has announced the impending launch of its new Ibiza SportCoupe.Coming shortly after the debut of the five-door SEAT Ibiza, the SportCoupe features seven-speed DSG double clutch gearbox technology, lowered headlights and a repositioned radiator grille, signalling the sportier slant of the car compared with the original Ibiza.
The vehicle stands about 17 millimetres lower than the five-door Ibiza, while the car also makes use of an all-new supermini platform.
SEAT has yet to confirm the exact trim and engine combinations that will be available, but the manufacturer said that the FR and Cupra versions of the new Ibiza will take their inspiration from the SportCoupe.
"The unveiling of this stunning new SportCoupe is a key moment for us. I know our existing Ibiza owners, as well as sports-orientated supermini buyers generally, will be thrilled at what they see," commented Steve Robertson of SEAT.
Earlier this month, the new five-door Ibiza received a five-star Euro NCAP rating for safety.
