MG TF to be made in Britain
Patriotic motorists may be pleased to learn that the new MG is set to be built in the UK.Assembly of the TF soft-top is expected to take place in the Longbridge car plant in Birmingham, meaning the Chinese-owned British automotive marque is returning to its roots, reports Auto Express.
Meanwhile, the MG 3, 5 and 7 are also expected to be built at the Longbridge plant.
Nevertheless, the TF is in line to be the first new MG car to return to UK roads when it goes on sale "before the summer's end".
And motoring enthusiasts will be asked to pay £16,000 when it does finally arrive in MG car dealerships across the nation.
Founded in 1924, the automaker's name is a shortening of Morris Garages.
Production of the brand's vehicles ceased in 2005 when owner MG Rover was declared bankrupt but it is now returning under the ownership of Chinese giant Nanjing Automobile.
