London Motorsport Show pays tribute to female racers

Women who have achieved success in the racing world are to be celebrated as part of the London Motorsport Show.

The event will showcase females in the industry, with a number of racers on-hand to display the vehicles they are famous for driving.

For motorbike fans, rider Kat Sanderson from Team Feisty will be appearing and bringing her 250 cc Aprilla model with her.

British Tour Car Championship competitor Fiona Leggate is also due to take part, appearing alongside the 300 bhp MG ZS she drives.

According to show organiser Phillip Bunn, female racers have just as big a role in the industry as men today.

He said: "For a long time motorsport was seen as a predominantly male-orientated sport but now there are many ladies who are challenging the gents at their own game and putting up quite a fight."

Discrepancies in the car insurance market can exist between male and female drivers, but moneysupermarket.com has claimed that specialist dealers do not always offer the best policies.
