Fiat development may impress eco-friendly motorists
A recent environmentally-friendly automotive development may convince people looking to buy a car that can help them cut their carbon footprint to head to their local Fiat Group dealership. The company has announced it has created an engine innovation that can cut fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, while simultaneously increasing power.
Its MultiAir technology will initially be fitted to a 16-valve 1.4-litre unit and the first car to feature it will be the Alfa MiTo at the end of 2009.
Eventually, the system will be introduced into other cars in the group's range.
MultiAir technology can cut carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption by ten per cent, while increasing power by the same figure.
Earlier this month, Fiat revealed it had achieved the lowest average emissions for cars sold in 2008.
In other news, it was recently announced the singer James Morrison would be taking part in Fiat's latest online marketing campaign.
