Carmaker SEAT has reported that its sales for January 2006 were the highest ever for the brand, at 3,219 vehicles.
The Spanish motor manufacturer delivered its highest ever monthly registration figures for January and a record market share of 2.05 per cent.
SEAT welcomed its strong start to the year and claimed that all models in its range have attracted interest during the first month of the year, despite an overall dip in UK car registrations.
Sales for the company were up by 78.5 per cent in January this year, compared with the same month of 2005, boosted by SEAT's 'New Year's Revolution' campaign and new models, such as the Leon and Altea.
SEAT UK director Kevin James said: "We are delighted to have experienced such a fantastic start to the New Year. Despite the tough economic climate, SEAT has attracted record numbers of customers by offering great cars and strong value."
The car manufacturer is currently offering the Ibiza 1.2 Reference at participating dealers for just £6,995, in the lead up to the March 2006 number plate change. The model comes with power steering, electric windows, twin airbags, ABS, remote central locking and a CD player as standard.
The Altea 1.6 and 1.9 TDI Reference Sport models are on offer at participating dealers with a £2,000 discount – at £10,495 and £11,495 respectively.
Meanwhile, the seven-seat Alhambra has been revised for the 2006 model year, with a new 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS engine and there ate savings available on outgoing 1.9-litre versions.
