Seat unveils "hot hatches" Leon Cupra and Ibiza FR
The new Leon Cupra and Ibiza FR models from Seat have been unveiled and described as "hot hatches".Set to go on sale in July and September respectively, both cars will debut at the Barcelona Motor Show in May.
In the meantime, the Spanish manufacturer gave some details about what each model will include.
The Leon Cupra is "eye-catching" and has enhancements on the exterior, including a honeycomb central grille, a polished steel oval tailpipe and "prominent" black moulding.
Highlights of the Ibiza FR incorporate a "high-tech theme" and technical features such as a DSG seven-speed gearbox together with a supercharger and turbocharger.
The car takes inspiration from the racing world and has interior styling that "contributes to its sporty looks".
No prices for either model have been revealed as yet, but Seat said these will be confirmed nearer to the date of sale.
Meanwhile, last month saw the automaker scoop a prize for outstanding design.
Its Ibiza five-door vehicle won the Best of the Best gong at the Red Dot Awards.
