Seat offers 'excellent residual values'

Seat cars retain more of their original price than many of their competitors, it has been claimed.

The manufacturer cited figures from residual value experts Cap Motor Research which suggest its vehicles make a sound investment.

According to the statistics, the Ibiza SC 1.2 S A/C is likely to hold onto 44 per cent of its recommended retail price after 60,000 miles and three years.

Seat said the figures reveal other strong performances from a number of its vehicles, including the Leon Ecomotive, Leon FR, Altea and Altea XL.

Commenting on the results, Cap's manufacturer relationship manger, Martin Ward, said: "Where Seat scores, simply, is that its model range includes cars that people really want to buy, either new or used."

He added Seat's line-up is "not carrying any baggage".

Earlier this month, the manufacturer announced "a scorching set" of finance deals on a number of its models to help buyers out in the difficult economic conditions.
