Seat model may impress green drivers
Motorists who prioritise green credentials when buying a car may be impressed with a model from Seat.An Ibiza Ecomotive has recently completed a trip of 970 miles using one tank of fuel - this is equivalent to fuel economy of 97.4 mpg.
Economy-driving champion Gerhard Plattner was behind the wheel during the challenge and he said setting the record felt "incredible".
Commenting on his trip, Mr Plattner stated: "The pouring rain practically all through the night made driving difficult, but the Ibiza Ecomotive performed to perfection."
At times during the journey, the Austrian motorist hit speeds of almost 70 mph.
Drivers interested in the car will find it offers CO2 emissions of 98 g/km meaning owners are exempt from paying road tax.
Last month, Seat reported some of its used models had enjoyed a significant increase in price.
It put this down to the popularity of its cars.
