Seat is celebrating after its all-new Ibiza supermini was voted best in its class by a number of European organisations.
The company explains some of its executives headed to Berlin recently to pick up a Golden Steering Wheel from German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
It notes the Ibiza was judged to be top of its class in a number of categories, including handling, design, comfort and dynamics.
A few days earlier, the Ibiza was named compact car of the year by Dutch motor club ANWB.
Regarding the haul of awards, Steve Robertson, head of marketing at Seat UK, says the fact independent judges in Holland and Germany placed the Ibiza at the top of such competitive sectors shows how "tremendous" the car's appeal is.
"Our determination to make the Ibiza the most engaging, enjoyable drive in its class clearly make the Ibiza a winner," he adds.
In recent days, Seat announced its upcoming Exeo will make its UK showroom debut in the first half of next year.
