Seat Altea XL launches in UK
Motoring enthusiasts can now get their hands on the Seat Altea XL after the long-awaited model was officially launched in the UK.The model, which is on sale now in Seat car dealerships, offers more space than any previous compact multi-purpose vehicle in the Altea range.
For instance, its boot capacity of 532 litres means that it offers 123 litres more than the standard model in its normal configuration.
Yet if the rear seats are moved forward 14 ins, storage space grows to 635 litres and if the back seats are folded down completely this rises further to an absolute maximum capacity of 1,604 litres.
As such, the model is expected to prove popular among motorists who regularly transport large amounts of luggage - such as those who like to undertake extended driving holidays across the continent.
Earlier this week, statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed that demand for the Altea brand had increased in 2006.
According to the figures, year-on-year sales of the Altea rose by 29 per cent.
