Peugeot encourages motorists to ditch old bangers
Buying a new, fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicle can help motorists cut costs, according to Peugeot. However, the manufacturer acknowledged drivers may need financial help in purchasing a car in the current economic climate.
As a result, it has explained the options available to its customers.
The Peugeot Passport PCP scheme makes it possible for buyers to hand a car back after an agreed term with no further payments, settle the bill and keep the vehicle or part-exchange the model for a new one.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer's Passport Finance offers a variable deposit of between zero to 40 per cent of the vehicle price, with the cost fixed depending on the term and annual mileage.
A number of other options are also available.
Chris Cheetham from Peugeot said - with these kinds of schemes available - it made sense for motorists to get rid of older, unreliable vehicles.
He stated: "In the current economic climate, receiving an unexpected bill for repairs, of say £1,000, is difficult to cover."
Meanwhile, the manufacturer recently revealed buyers could expect to save between £157 and £608 as a result of the recent cut in VAT.
