Peugeot Citroen engine reaches milestone
Peugeot Citroen's environmentally-friendly HDi engine has now sold more than ten million units.Since 1998, new cars from the brand have been fitted with technology that cuts carbon emissions.
It has also paved the way for other engines to supersede it, including the 2.7-litre V6.
Drivers in vehicles equipped with the technology have been experiencing a "superior environmental performance, driveability and fuel efficiency", the French company commented.
"The HDi family of engines has enabled PSA Peugeot Citroen to maintain and expand its leadership in diesel technology and to outpace the fast growth in diesel sales in Europe over the past ten years," the body stated.
Forbes has reported that the company's chairman has commented to the La Tribune that he would like to see the manufacturer "become a little bit German" over approaches to quality and mechanics.
