The high quality of driver control offered by the Peugeot 607 has received praise in an automotive review.
Car reviewer David Finlay, writing in Car Keys, made his comments after testing out the 2.2-litre turbo diesel 607, which can accelerate to 62 mph from a standing start in 9.3 seconds and maxes out at 139 mph.
Some large executive vehicles may suffer from poor handling because they are more unwieldy to steer than smaller counterparts.
However, Mr Finlay explains that the car has similar handling characteristics to the 407 SW family car, its little brother in the Peugeot family.
"It rides quite well, with better body control than large French saloons of the past," he explained.
"In fact, it's not much less nimble than the similarly-powered 407 SW, which says a lot for how good a job the Peugeot engineers have done on the suspension."
The Peugeot 607 incorporates a range of exterior features that may be of interest to motorists, including fog lamps, self-darkening wing mirrors, automatic windscreen wipers and an electronic boot.
