Peugeot 407 wins two awards at BICSA
Peugeot's successful 407 model has picked up two awards at the British Insurance Car Security Awards, held at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre.The French manufacturer's 407 model won the Best Family Car award for the second consecutive year, in addition to the Best Performance Car, based on a number of vehicle security and protection criteria.
Judges said that both the 407 saloon and coupe models won their categories as a result of the high level of security equipment they contain.
This includes driveaway locking activation, plip activated remote automatic door and boot locking, laminated front and side windows, engine immobilisation, deadlocks, integrated in-car entertainment system, ultrasonic alarm, locking wheel nuts for alloy wheels, and numerous other security protection systems.
A spokesman for Peugeot said: "We are delighted that Peugeot has again been recognised for its high levels of security features in these important awards.
"It is our main objective to protect customers with the added benefit of having the lowest insurance rates."
Another string to the 407's bow was the recent launch of a new four-cylinder, 2.2-litre diesel engine version, coming in both 170bhp and 156bhp single-turbo optionss
The French manufacturer said that the new engine has been developed from the existing 2.2 HDI unit, featuring piezo-electric fuel injection and twin overhead camshafts.
