Peugeot ready to launch new 207
Peugeot is set to launch its new mini-sized 207 car next week as the firm's latest swing at the rivals Renault and their Clio model.The car will be pitted against the Clio, Fiat Punto, Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, Opel Corsa and Citroen C3 in the mini-sized car range, although the eagerly anticipated 207 is expected to surge to the top of the hotly contested market.
Peugeot's trendy-looking new 207 is a step up from the highly popular 206 model, although the two are due to be sold side by side for the time being.
Peugeot is also developing a GTi version of the 207, coming equipped with a 132kW 1.6-litre engine.
With a top speed of 140mph and capable of 0-60 in seven seconds, the GTi is expected to set the pace for the mini-sized car range.
The 207 is certainly causing a stir in the car market, with many comparing the GTi to the popular 1980s hatchback 205 GTi.
Sporty additions to the already stylish lines of the 207 will also prove popular among younger drivers, with the GTi boasting flared wheel arches, sporty bumpers, 18-inch alloys and integral spotlights.
