Peugeot 206 van lands top prize
Peugeot has received a major accolade, with its 206 van scooping the much-vaunted Best Light Van Award 2006, dished out by Professional Van & Light Truck Magazine.A panel of judges consisting of actual users of the van – rather than simply the magazine's readership – assessed the candidates for the award, which recognises the merits of a vehicle based on how it performs in its natural role and environment.
Factors such as convenience for placing the driver's coffee cup and snack, whether there is room to place a newspaper and the useability of the payload area may seem relatively small, but all come into consideration when the contenders for this award are weighed up each year.
Steve Harris, Fleet Director of Peugeot UK, said: "This award recognises the high specification and standard equipment levels of the 206 van, which make it a perfect option for customers looking for a stylish and practical small van."
The 206 van possesses features similar to those of a 206 passenger car and has a payload of 526 kilograms and a load capacity of 1130dm3. It is powered by a 1.4 litre HDi diesel engine.
