Peugeot 206 outdone by new model sales
Despite an overall fall in small car sales during September, Peugeot's 207 models remain a hit with car buyers as sales rose by 1.3 per cent last month.Indeed, Peugeot's entire range of small cars are becoming increasingly popular with like-for-like sales figures rising by as much as 22 per cent on the same period in 2005.
Peugeot's small car success has been lead by the 207 and in particular by the newly available model, reports new car net.
In the first four months since launch, the latest Peugeot 207 has achieved greater initial sales success than the iconic 206 model managed when it was first introduced in 1998.
More than 16,000 new 207s have now been sold and with the prospect of an all new Peugeot 207 GT THP 150 less than a month away, things are looking good for the French car maker.
Peugeot's famous lion logo found on the front of all of its cars was taken from the coat of arms of Franche-Comte, the area of eastern France where the Peugeot family originated from.
